Amazing staff, considerate and very kind. We were a group of ten, which they happily connected tables for. we ordered one kilo pork and one kilo lamb with mosaka, two Greek salads some pasta bolognese, siziki, and 2 soflaki chicken and 2 soflaki pork as well as some cheese balls and local wine. The wine was authentic and clean. The meat was tender and well cooked (they even showed us how exactly the meat is butchered and the meat refrigerator which added to the uniqueness of the place as well as the authenticity of the place which was a very cool experience for us) The mosaka melted at our toungs and enhanced The sweetness of the meat. The salad fresh and filling. The cheese balls were crispy the cheese was melted and it was flavored properly. The siziki was fresh and the soflaki was juicy and teneder. What made it even more unforgettable and enhanced our experience was the amazing staff. They add on the house chips that were crispy and well cooked as well as dessert that consisted of fruits and chocolate balls which wrapped the meal just right and even without us asking offered seconds (with no added cost at all) We had an amazing time, we were all full by the end.
One of the best restaurant experiences on the whole island! My girlfriend and I ordered souvlaki and moussaka — both dishes were absolutely fantastic and delicious. The waiters were attentive to us, even though they were also serving a large tour group. For two main courses, water, and half a liter of wine, we only paid €29, which is a very reasonable price. On top of that, we were given a free dessert, which was a very thoughtful and nice touch. I would 100% recommend this place!
Amazing place with great greek food and lovely atmosphere and staff are so friendly!
The food was delicious, good portions. The local wine is semi-sweet and not very suitable for dinner. A large group of Polish tourists were being fed at the same time as we were, it was noisy and we were served slowly. The tavern is staffed by a family, children also help, it’s very nice. For dessert they brought a compliment from the establishment - cakes.
Goat and sheep meat was delicious, greek salad very fresh. Staff were friendly and offered a sweet treat at the end of our meal.
We discovered Maroulakis by chance while walking around Empona village looking for a place to eat, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We ordered lamb chops, pitaroudia, Greek salad, and tzatziki. Everything was freshly made and incredibly delicious. The portions were generous—so much so that we couldn’t finish everything and ended up taking the leftovers with us back to the hotel. What really made the experience stand out was the warm and welcoming service. The staff were not only friendly but also very helpful in guiding us through the menu and making sure we were happy with our choices. To top it all off, we were offered a complimentary dessert when asking for the bill—a lovely gesture that we didn’t come across in any other restaurant during our stay in Rhodes, even though it’s said to be a common tradition in Greece. We’re truly grateful for the hospitality and delicious food. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!
Holy smokes!!! If you visit Embona and also are hungry you need to visit Maroulakis! We had a portion of grilled goat. And it was so so good. Juicy and with so much flavors. Also the portion was big and the price only 16 euro. We also got homemade chocolate balls for dessert. The staff is really nice and helpful. We will be back!
I ordered Chicken Souvlaki and received only one stick and some fries… for 11€ I would have expected a little more or at least some sauce or tzatziki with it. Therefore the wine was extraordinarily good we had sweet red wine and it was delicious.
